Puerto Viejo Hotel / Lodge - Vacation Rental Cottages
Puerto Viejo de Talamanca is a laid back village that moves to a reggae beat. Beaches - never crowded, surfing, snorkeling, biking, wildlife, hiking, excellent restaurants, and friendly people will make this Costa Rican village your favorite vacation spot. For most visitors, their first visit is not their last!
Cashew Hill Jungle Cottages are a short walk from downtown, on a hillside, overlooking Puerto Viejo. The gorgeous blue ocean is visible from the hill. You can easily walk to several beaches, many restaurants, and shops from Cashew Hill. Cashew Hill Hotel is close to almost everything. Rent a bicycle and peddle around like the locals do to see it all.
Cashew Hill offers well-appointed one, two and three bedroom rental cottages with daily, weekly or monthly rates. These cottages have everything you need to be content, secure and relaxed, including ocean breezes. The cottages are spread out on a 2-acre, ocean-view hill, in the midst of our spectacular tropical gardens.
Cashew Hill's Jungle Dipping Pool
Each cottage features a kitchen, complete with refrigerator, stove, coffee maker, microwave, toaster oven and all the utensils necessary to create gourmet meals or just a snack. Orthopedic mattresses guarantee an easy and restful night's sleep. Towels, bedding, mosquito nets, screens, reading lamps, hot water showers and friendly, on-site hosts are some of the other advantages of staying at Cashew Hill.
It is important to us to offer the best service, cleanliness, security and accommodations in the area. Maid service is included and laundry service is available. We can make suggestions and help you plan your tours and activities. We can also

We offer secure parking if you choose to drive, however, a vehicle is not needed. We are within 5 minutes walking distance to beaches, many restaurants and shops. Renting a bicycle or scooter is a great way to get around.
You can prepare gourmet meals in your own kitchen, or dine at many great restaurants within walking distance of Cashew Hill.
Besides laundry service, assistance with transportation, tours, surf lessons and diving tours are also available. Some of the best surf (and surfing instructors) and diving opportunities are available, just minutes away, on the beautiful beaches and coral reefs of the Caribbean. Vacation Rental Versus Hotel Cost
For people on a budget, our cottages cost less than a hotel! No need to rent 2-3 hotels rooms to accommodate your family or group; you can simply rent a cottage that works for you. In addition, because our cottages have fully-equipped kitchens, you have the option to cook meals at "home" while on vacation, which can save hundreds of dollars in restaurant bills!
(Yes, there are grocery stores close at hand.)
Fully equipped kitchens are included with our houses. Hotels do not typically offer kitchens or appropriate utensils. You also have space to hang out in inclement weather. Being stuck in a hotel room on a rainy day is not very relaxing. Our cottages are built for relaxation.
There is no front desk, no concierge or bell service. But you get an entire stand-alone house, set amidst gorgeous gardens with a nice dipping pool, in a secure compound. And, you can get assistance with activities and tours. Someone is always present to answer your questions.
We do not offer televisions or in-house telephones at Cashew Hill. You can bring a laptop to stay connected. Or you can use this as an opportunity to escape and enjoy the soothing sounds of nature.
"Cashew Hill Jungle Hotel & Lodge offers cozy, attractive rental buildings with great porches and hammocks where you can hang out and relax. The green grounds are pleasant and private. It's just isolated enough from town to be away from it all, and it's very secure."
